Vision & Prayer Night for Chatswood
Sunday night was a historic night in the life of Grace City Church as we held our first Vision and Prayer Night for the Chatswood plant, right in the heart of Chatswood. We met in the 5 Loaves 2 Fish cafe - a Christian business located right in the heart of Chatswood - and one of the many examples of God’s provision already in this church planting journey.
Close to 50 people of all ages attended the event, which was a tremendous encouragement. We began the night with a time of worship, and given the amount of foot traffic that goes right past the cafe, there were many curious onlookers who peeked their head in to see what all the commotion was about. Mike then shared about the journey that God has brought Grace City Church on over the past few years to bring us to where we are now, reaffirming that this new initiative into Chatswood is part of God’s prophetic word over our church for “adventure”. In many ways, this Chatswood plant is our first major step towards the vision of being a church that is “shaped by God to shape the city”.
After spending some time praying into the vision and committing this journey to God, Adrian (who is leading the Chatswood plant) unpacked the story of the five loaves and the two fish from Luke 9:10-17, and challenged us to consider the provisions in our lap - however small they may be - and how God might want to take them, multiply them and use them to feed the multitudes of spiritually hungry people in Chatswood.
It was incredibly exciting and invigorating to see a new community of people forming and rallying around the vision of seeing a new work of the Gospel planted in the heart of Chatswood. Please continue to prayerfully support us in this venture!
